Discovery & Assessment

Treeline will become immersed in your corporate culture, structure, and strategy. 
We will bring structure to our initial dialog, ask the right questions, and listen.  We will need to understand the pulse, spirit, and history of the organization to find the right person and the right fit.  We will understand the past and the future especially with respect to goals and aspirations.  We will assimilate our team with the greatest possible sense of urgency to ensure that we understand the opportunities to be managed as well as the critical success factors to be mitigated by the new team member.  Goals and success measures will also be documented – including how success will be defined and measured once the new person is in place.  Our findings are documented and discussed, and yield search criteria in terms of requirements and prerequisite experience and characteristics.

Research & Definition

Treeline will study the market to identify relevant source companies and industries for the new team member.  Source companies, and specific executives, will be defined and profiled within a Candidate Development plan; this plan is part of the documentation created during the broader Discovery & Assessment phase of the engagement.

Candidate Development & Reporting

Treeline will pursue direct conversations with the individuals identified in the Candidate Development Plan.  Treeline will also leverage its growing database of high-value contacts together with an extensive network of organizations and professionals that can add value in the search.  Targeted advertising and online resources might also be utilized.  The goals are simple – quickly execute on the agreed Candidate Development Plan and find the most qualified person and best fit.  Treeline’s commitment to the highest ethical standards, as well as value of diversity and equal opportunity are reflected in each and every search we complete. 

Treeline will screen and interview candidates.  We will apply a talent-based interview methodology and vast interview experience to qualify candidates. Treeline approaches this process with a level of precision commensurate with the vital nature of the search and narrow margin for error.  Written assessments of each candidate will be provided to the client. Candidate employment history will be chronicled, analyzed, and qualified relative to the factors and search criteria documented during the Discovery & Assessment phase of the engagement. Subsequent reference and representation validation will also be reflected within the written assessment.

After completing our review and assessment of each candidate, a list of high-impact, qualified, candidates will be assembled.  Treeline will then conduct a second-level of screening including reference checking and supplied information/representation validation. Treeline will speak with colleagues, customers, superiors, and subordinates to garner the most accurate portrayal possible. The result of this stage is a list of three to five candidates referred to the client for interview and consideration.  

Client Consultation

Communication is critical.  Progress reports are provided to the client throughout the engagement.  Treeline will also maintain communication and contact with the candidates to ensure each is handled with care and respect, and always aware of the status and next steps.

Treeline will review the progress reports and candidate assessments in detail with the client; this will ensure that the reports are understood (and provide actionable information).  Open dialog and ongoing communication is also designed to ensure each search remains harmonized with the initial plan while also facilitating necessary adjustments.  Given its emphasis and focus on meaningful assimilation at the outset of each engagement, rational approach, and consistent process, Treeline adds value as our clients’ trusted talent partner.

Decision Validation

Treeline can participate in the client-driven interview if requested by the client. Treeline will also join the client decision-making team in discussing the final round of interviews. Treeline’s role at this juncture is to maintain sensitivity and awareness relative to the factors and search criteria identified during the Discovery & Assessment phase of the engagement. 

Conclusion

Treeline will facilitate effective communication between the client and candidate.  Dialogue at this stage in the process is delicate and requires an experienced third party – Treeline.  Clients derive significant value from Treeline’s tremendous experience with hundreds of placements at this stage in the process.  Treeline also provides guidance regarding compensation parameters and current industry practices.  

Following the hiring decision, Treeline helps the client transition the new person from candidate to valued team member.  From confirming administration and logistics of the hiring process, to communication and expectation setting, Treeline will work to optimize the new team member’s experience.  The quality of each transition impacts the foundation on which long-term employment relationships are built.
